How to play Klondike
Sort all 52 cards into the four suit piles at the top. These are called foundations. Start each foundation with an Ace then add cards of the same suit up to the King. Complete all four foundations to win.
Use the seven columns below to sort your cards (the tableau). Build down by one rank and switch between red and black. For example place a red 7 on a black 8. You can move a single face-up card or a whole run of cards in the right order. Only a King or a run that starts with a King, can fill an empty column.
Drag cards to move them or click or tap a card and then its new spot. A double-click or double-tap makes the move when there is just one valid place. If there is more than one, the game marks your choices.
Click or tap the face-down stock to draw cards. Turn 1 draws one card, Turn 2 draws two and Turn 3 draws three. Only the top card of the drawn pile is free to play. Play it to reach the card beneath. When the stock runs out, click it again to go through the cards once more. There is no limit on these passes.
For a guided start, open Help and choose Tutorial. You will learn to move cards, start a suit pile, draw and use Undo. Then try Practice, where you can pick Turn 1, 2 or 3 and Easy, Medium or Hard. The main game takes you through nine levels.
The Daily game gives you a set deal for each date. Play today’s deal or one from the past six days. You can try each deal as often as you like. Your best score is kept. Win today’s game each day to build your daily streak.
Autoplay is on by default. It sends safe cards to the foundations as you play. You still choose moves between columns and draw from the stock. Switch Autoplay off in Settings if you want to make each move yourself. Use Hint for a suggested move and Undo to take a move back.
You can also play with the keyboard. Use Tab or Shift+Tab to move between piles and controls. Use the arrow keys to browse cards. Press Enter or Space to select a card, move to a valid spot then press again to place it. Escape cancels your choice or pauses play if no card is selected. Find the full guide under Settings and then Accessibility.
Make the game feel right for you in Settings. Change Appearance offers six card faces, six backs and three table colours. Try Large Print for clearer ranks or switch on the left-handed layout. Open Personal Statistics to see your wins, losses, win rates and best streaks for each game mode.

Klondike Tips and Tricks
Look for moves that can reveal hidden cards. Each new card gives you more choice. If two moves seem just as good, try the one that clears a card from a column with more hidden cards.
Think ahead before you fill an empty column. You need a King to use that space so check which King would help most. A good choice can free a hidden card or give you room to move a long run.
Keep useful cards in play. A card that fits on a suit pile may still help you build a run below. Autoplay checks for safe moves so leaving it on can help with this. If you move cards to the foundation piles yourself, take a moment to check what you still need.
In Turn 2 and Turn 3, watch how the stock changes. Playing a card from the drawn pile can change which cards you reach on the next pass. Check for fresh moves after each draw. Turn 1 gives you more direct access to each card so it is a good place to learn.
Use Undo to test a new plan when a move leads to a dead end. Hint can help you spot a move you missed, though a hint does not promise a win. Try to see what the suggested move will open up.
Practice is a good place to work on one type of deal. Start with Turn 1 on Easy then raise the challenge when you feel ready. After a failed Practice game, choose Watch solution to see how that exact deal can be won. Pause the replay, step forward or step back to study each move.
Use your stats to choose what to practise next. If your Turn 3 win rate is low spend a few games on that mode. For a fresh goal each day, return to the Daily game. Replays can improve your best score but only today’s win adds to your daily streak.
